Would you like to learn how to use a computer? Or, if you already
have some computer skills, would you like to learn more?
In either case, the three SeniorNet Learning Centers of San Jose offer computer courses for adults 50 years of age or older, where you can gain computer skills or improve the ones you already have. Most courses meet once a week for 8 weeks. About every 10 weeks, a new round of courses starts. Each student has a computer to use in the classroom. And every class has one instructor and 2 or more coaches. (If you would like to be a coach or instructor, there are many opportunities.)
Course cost is about $20 and there is an annual membership to SeniorNet of $40 required.
The intermediate course subjects include Windows XP, Word Processing with MS Word, Internet and e-Mail, Graphics and Scanning, MS Works Database/Spreadsheet, Digital Photography and others. There is also an excellent Beginning Computer Skills course for people with little or no computer experience.
If you are interested in finding out more, please visit or call one of the centers shown below. They will supply you with a Mailing List Information Form which you should return to the center. Then your name will be added to the mailing list and you will receive a brochure containing course descriptions and registration instructions about every 10 weeks.
